There are some days when I reflect on life and thank God for unanswered prayers. After all, God knows what’s best for me, and in Psalm 84:11 he promises that He will not withhold any good thing to those who walk uprightly. My life is in the palm of his hand, and he holds it ever so gently as he crafts and molds me to be who I am meant to be. Part of this means not giving me everything I want and making sure I have everything I need.
He has a better plan for me. He always gives me more than the portion I deserve. Isaiah 55:9 says, “For just as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are My ways higher than your ways, and My thoughts are higher than your thoughts.”
It may feel like he is ignoring us or is taking too long to move in our situation, but his timing is always perfect, his will is so much more, and his blessings are well worth the wait. Don’t lose hope if you have been praying and are seeing results. Sometimes his timing is instant, while sometimes, we wait very long. He is busy orchestrating the design of his final works, and in the end, his blessing surpasses anything we could have ever hoped for in our prayers.
Choose to keep praying, keep believing, and keep seeking because you will find him, and he will answer you according to His perfect will. He is a God of breakthroughs. He opens doors and intervenes on our behalves. He is an awesome God.
When you surrender to his ways and give your life and live according to his will, he will never disappoint you. We must praise him in our suffering, worship him in our sorrow, and praise him in our joy; he will help us through.
“Are any of you suffering hardships? You should pray. Are any of you happy? You should sing praises.”- James 5:13
We often try to fix situations ourselves when things aren’t going according to our desires. We self-medicate with alcohol and drugs. We turn to vices like gambling and eating. We choose to worry and stress. We seek medical attention for depression and anxiety. And then, when all else fails, we pray.
When you’re struggling or distraught, what do you do? Where do you go for help? Who do you call?
How much easier would things have been if we would call upon the Lord first if we dropped to our knees in prayer as the first course of action? Psalm 118:5- “In my distress, I prayed to the Lord, and the Lord answered me and set me free.”
Freedom cannot be found in the things of this world. It is only in Jesus that we are indeed free. In his presence, we find peace. In his joy, we receive our strength. In his word, we fell his love. All of these things can be received sought in God and received through prayer.
I once read that the devil fears absolutely nothing from prayerless studies, prayerless work, and religion. He laughs at our toil, and mocks our wisdom, but he trembles when we pray. The one concern of the devil is to keep us from praying.
Prayer is such a powerful tool. It can be done anytime, anywhere, and God is attentive to our words and always faithful. I encourage you to keep praying, and keep believing because your blessing is right around the corner.
Do not lose heart
