Before the fireworks are up, be sure that your home is ready with a fire prevention plan in place. Replace the batteries in all of your smoke and carbon monoxide detectors. Create a fire escape plan with your family and put into practice. Check your fire extinguishers and any other safety items that might need maintenance.
Take this month to double check your itineraries and travel plans for the summer. Read the fine print and double check your shopping list as your needs will change for the summer. You may need to budget for new swimsuits if the littles have grown out of last year’s suits. You will need sunscreen, sunglasses, hats, etc. Be sure to keep your health on the forefront.
Summer is an excellent time for outside work. It’s the perfect time for painting homes, fences, cleaning garages, sheds, and yard work. Just remember to keep hydrated. Yes, it may be hot, and you may choose to do things earlier in the morning when the sun is up, but it is still nice outside, but if you venture into the afternoon, the best thing about being outside is the ability to get wet. Whether by hose, or a quick jump in the pool, outside is best when soaked in summer goodness.
Now is the time to start planning for Back to School. Take inventory of closets, removing what doesn’t fit and take note of what you need to buy for the upcoming school year. Most big sales will happen in July, but we will usually pass them up thinking we will wait for back to school sales, truth be told the percentage off given in July is far better than the back to school sales in August because companies know that we will buy no matter the price because we need the items.
Don’t forget to do your regular monthly and weekly tasks! Have a blessed month and choose joy in July!
What are your thoughts? I'd love to hear them!
