In ancient Rome, the festival of Februarius was the “Month of Purification”.
February comes from the Latin word ‘februa‘ – which means cleansing or purification, so let’s start the month off fresh! Fresh like February.
I imagine the snow covering all of the Earth’s faults with a blanket of white snow, that with the help of the sun, soon turns into Spring showers that water the Earth and carry all of the filth that laid beneath the snow away in the dripping water and flowing streams. Purification.

Are you always asking for a little more time to get things done? Well this February gives you an extra day for Leap Year, but beware because your month is still a few days shorter than the other months.
Holidays:
Valentine’s Day, Chinese New Year, President’s Day
Plan for Lent, Valentine’s Day, Chinese New Year and President’s Day.
Don’t forget: Presidents’ Day kids are off of school. Everything red and pink will go on clearance after Valentine’s Day so have an open mind for what you can use for Christmas or upcoming birthday party themes. Keep an eye out for clearance items for next Valentine’s Day.
Things to put in your planner: Be aware of birthdays and anniversaries this month so you can plan your trips accordingly. Work on your monthly and weekly agenda items.
Are the kiddos growing out of their pants? Take note of which ones so they can be sewn into capris for the Spring or cut into Summer shorts.

You’ll find February tucked in the middle of winter trying to stay warm amongst the white winter snow and morning frosts. Hot Chocolate recipes are in the making while hot toasty ovens are baking. Tea in the afternoons is a must while boots and long socks are in fashion.
Love is in the air! Hearts are everywhere we look. Take some time this month to tend to your own heart. Practice Forgiveness, practice Love, and practice accepting Peace. They are all ours for the taking.
Winter’s white cape can be found draped in different parts of the world. Only in the places, she chooses as the Earth hibernates, rejuvenates, and dreams. I hope you find time this month for purification. Time to dream in His love, rejuvenate in His peace, and hibernate in His forgiveness.
What are your thoughts? I'd love to hear them!
