Psalm 65:8 reads: “The whole earth is filled with awe at your wonders, where morning dawns, where everything fades, you call forth songs of joy.”
The wonders of this world are unmistakable as dazzling sunset photos charm social media from all the Earth’s regions. Beautiful landscapes showcasing sunrises in every coordinate of the globe are perfectly cropped and featured with likes in the millions.
The Star-spangled Banner lyrics were written by someone who had sat amongst a dark moment watching the night sky ignite with danger. Surrounded in gunfire, weeping, sweat, and tears, he yearned for the morning, hoping that the break of dawn would bring reprieve from the battle. Not that it would be over, but that clarity of sunlight in the day would bring new vision.
It’s often in the dark times that our thoughts begin to overpower our confidence, and we’re left gripping onto the very edge of hope.
We fight the battle all night, looking forward to the morning when actions will entertain your mind while the worries are put on hold for just another day, except they aren’t.
They lurk in the foreground of your thoughts, keeping you distracted and overwhelmed. The result leaves you tired from the day. You spend your time dreaming of laying your head on the pillow, and when the night falls, the cycle repeats.
A new vision only comes when you choose to see things from a new perspective. The light shines, and you can sharply recognize what has fallen with damage and what remains standing. With a new approach, you can pick yourself up and reset your plan.
Jesus has paid the price for your freedom. On a dark day, when the Earth trembled, and the heaven’s cried, He saved us all as he cried out with his last breath, “It is finished.”
Although Jesus gives us freedom, we must still choose to accept it. Freedom comes in the form of Peace. There will always be stressful situations, but choosing His freedom means you will have Peace in the trenches.
The sun has come up, and today you can rest in the daylight and choose to see your life differently. The hope that you clung to in battle has carried you to the dawn and will continue to bring you to victory.
You are more than a conqueror. Your sweet Savior loves you. Your warcry is found tenderly inscribed in the readings of Romans Chapter 8 verses 34-39.
34 Who is he who condemns? It is Christ who died, and furthermore is also risen, who is even at the right hand of God, who also makes intercession for us. 35 Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? Shall tribulation, or distress, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or peril, or sword? 36 As it is written:
“For Your sake, we are killed all day long;
We are accounted as sheep for the slaughter.”
37 Yet in all these things, we are more than conquerors through Him who loved us. 38 For I am persuaded that neither death nor life, nor angels nor principalities nor powers, nor things present nor things to come, 39 nor height nor depth, nor any other created thing, shall be able to separate us from the love of God which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.
When you look at the darkness with a new vision, new hope, and unique knowledge of knowing that nothing can separate you from God’s love, it is in those sacred truths that you will find your freedom, and when dawn breaks, you will rise again and emerge with a new song to sing.
